Today after a full morning of meetings, I headed back to the office to do some sermon prep. I sat down at my desk and began to open up my computer. To my surprise my computer went on the blink. SO, I headed to Best Buy to see what was going on and they said my hard drive had crashed. Luckily, I back up my data regularly. BUT, there is still quite a bit of info. that I lost. I spent 3 1/2 hours at Best Buy trying to resolve the situation. They were really nice about the whole situation. I'm thankful I had a an extended warranty, which got me a brand spankin NEW laptop, MAC of course. So since I wasted 3 1/2 hours in Best Buy I thought I would share some lessons I learned.
#1. At any moment your hard drive could crash, so make sure you have it backed up - that takes a regular discipline. What about my spiritual life, do I engage regularly in spiritual disciplines that will help me when life throws us a curve ball? The Bible says there will be troubles in this world. We as followers of Christ, are not exempt.
#2. When in a stressful situation, stay calm. My staying calm and not gong off on a Best Buy employee got me a $200 gift card for the trouble. What would have happened, if I would not have held my cool? I would have blown my testimony for Christ and lost $200.
#3. Working for Best Buy as a Geek Squad employee is BORING!
#4. You can build relationship anywhere you go, in three and half hours I had friends all over that store and we were having a good time.
Well that was my afternoon for what it's worth.
