God really got my attention today. Over the last few weeks I have been learning and thinking a lot about being a better coach as a leader. My staff and leaders around me are looking to me for some input into their lives. For far too long I have been too passive as a leader because I had "SO much to do". While the REAL work of leadership and coaching was right in front of me.
Let me give you an example. Someone in your leadership keeps making mistake after mistake and all you do is get frustrated. Hello, you need to wake up like I had to wake up. Wake up to the realization that God might have placed that person under your leadership to lead them. To help them. To guide them. To coach them. Do you see it? God has placed you in their lives to help them in the process. That's part of the plan. SO, instead of getting frustrated take your leaders and start coaching them. Stop acting like they are just instantly going to make decision like you would make decisions. You have to coach them.
