How does a church become unstoppable? I believe the answer is a Praying Church!
Acts 12 says, " 1It was about this time that King Herod arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them. 2He had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword. 3When he saw that this pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. 4After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover.
5So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
6The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance. 7Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. "Quick, get up!" he said, and the chains fell off Peter's wrists.
8Then the angel said to him, "Put on your clothes and sandals." And Peter did so. "Wrap your cloak around you and follow me," the angel told him. 9Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision. 10They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him.
11Then Peter came to himself and said, "Now I know without a doubt that the Lord sent his angel and rescued me from Herod's clutches and from everything the Jewish people were anticipating.""
It has me really thinking, how much do we pray as a church and as a church staff???
Prayer must be a priority but satan has done a great job of distracting us.

Prayer and Fasting
One of the lost arts in spiritual discipline is fasting and dare I say prayer. For grins, ask yourself, when was the last time you spent time in prayer and chose to fast along with prayer? Fasting in the Bible was never meant for us to feel more spiritual, but it was intended for us to take our attention off of the stuff that gets it everyday and redirect our attention to God. What are you going to fast this week that will cause you to spend more concentrated time with God?
I would encourage you to read Matthew 6 and soak up what Jesus says about fasting and prayer. Remember that fasting doesn't just have to be food, maybe it is the internet, dessert, television or talking on the phone.
Go for it and get reconnected with God today!!!!

The POINT IS whatever you choose to fast, when you think about doing that (whatever that is) you will spend that time in prayer.
If you have questions on prayer, fasting or have an idea that our church could do to take this ONE Prayer series to the next level, email me at cpinion@lifequest.tv

History in the Making
I can't believe that LifeQuest Church gets the opportunity to Make History. Imagine what would happen if churches would lay down their petty differences and stand together in prayer. Well Imagine no longer because this Sunday that is exactly what is going to happen. More than 1,200 churches launch the One Prayer series this weekend, this is an unprecedented moment in history. God has already worked in a mighty way by providing the means for diverse churches around the globe to stand together as one. Think about it…more than 700,000 individuals, united. I can't wait to be part of this incredible sermon series. We are making History. Get ready to experience prayer like you've never experienced it before.

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT

Basically churches all over the world are joining together to do the same series at the same time, starting June 8th. Lead/Senior Pastors will teach the first week of the message series at their church and the next three weeks all the churches will show videos of some of the greatest communicators in America sharing their "one prayer" for the church. Along with the messages, we will be mobilizing LifeQuest to partner with other area churches for the purpose of the community outreach and world missions. This is going to be OFF the Chain!
We will be pre-producing a video to put on the One Prayer website to be used by any church that wishes to do that. Another reason I am excited about this, is that all three messages that will be shown at LifeQuest on video will be from friends of mine and I know they will rock your world spiritually.
I will share more in the coming weeks. One of the dreams I have for LifeQuest is that we will be Kingdom Minded!
