Lost our Dog

The other evening I was chillin out on my deck with a friend when I noticed that one of our dogs was missing.  I immediately jumped up and started looking around the yard and yelling her name.  "Bella", "Bella" I called but she didn't come running like usual.  I ran into the house and told our two oldest boys that Bella was missing.  The search was on.  The whole family including my friend, grab a flash light and start searching for her.  We were basically in a panic and I started thinking about what I would do to find our family dog.  I had basically decided that if it meant being up all night that I would do it.

Thankfully, minutes later one of the boys called the police and discovered that they had a dog that fit the description of Bella.  SO we quickly jumped into the car and drove to the police station.  It was her, someone had found her wandering near 71 hwy.  WOW!  I couldn't believe that she had not been hit.

Later the next day after my heart quit beating so hard, I thought through the events of the night before and realized how crazy we are about our dogs.  DOGS!  Then I started to realize that God is searching for the lost more intently than we did our dog.

Luke 15  talks about the lost coin, the lost sheep and the lost son.  All three mandated an all our search.  God went to huge lengths to reach us.  How far are you willing to go to reach those that are far from God.  Are we willing to get out of our comfort zone and reach them no matter the cost.
