There is NO gas in GA. Most gas stations have plastic over the pumps telling people they are out. I have never seen anything like it. Those that are in GA. are very up tight and worried about the future. It kind of reminds me of the times the nation went through in 2001. Today I had the opportunity to be with Brian Bloye Lead Pastor of West Ridge Church as he encouraged his congregation during these very difficult, uncertain times. He shared a powerful message on Hope! Here's a little taste of what Pastor Brian shared:
Ecclesiastes 1:1-2, 8 NIV "1 The words of the Teacher, [a] son of David, king in Jerusalem:2 "Meaningless! Meaningless!" says the Teacher. "Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless." Vs. 8 "8 All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing."
Why are people today so Spent?
Because they are trying to find meaning to life in the wrong place.
I wonder where are you trying to find the meaning to life? This is a question that I believe if we will all come to grips with it will help us hang on during the difficult and uncertain times.
Where can we find HOPE when life has us spent?
I love this part: Pastor Brian really preached it well.
1. We can find hope within a community of friends - ie small groups. This is why Life Groups are so important.
2. We can find hope as we draw it from the source of Hope - Jesus Christ!
America there is HOPE, not in the Government, but Jesus! Don't forget that.
