A Terrible Phenomenon in Church Planting

After reflecting on some of the meetings I have had with church planters lately, I am disturbed.  Why are you disturbed?  Glad you asked, because I was going to tell you anyways.  A few years ago I was meeting with a church planter that was complaining about not having enough money to plant this church.  He said, "if I only had the money to hire my friend that would make an incredible outreach pastor."  I looked at him and said, "When was the last time you led someone to Christ?".  He responded with an answer that ticked me off, actually did more than that but I won't put that on this blog.  He said, "the last time I led someone to Christ was 1999."  This was 2006.  What is wrong with that picture?  First I think the people that assessed him should be fired.  Why are we putting church planters out on the field that don't lead people to Christ?  Why are we resourcing church planters that haven't learned how to share their faith?

If you are a church planter and haven't shared your faith lately, get off your spiritual BUTT and GO!  If you don't have a list of people that you are praying for, to cross the line of Faith, get off your spiritual BUTT and GO!  If you are a Christ Follower or you serve on the staff of a church and haven't shared your faith, then get off YOUR BUTT and GO!  If we don't go then we will never build God's Kingdom!
